Though intended for indoor use only, this dome housing not only lessens regular wear-and-tear, but protects your camera from intentional manipulation or vandalism. To add further security, the IRC1-P allows for sleek and tidy feed-through wiring for both the power supply cord and the Ethernet cable. This indoor dome housing is constructed of an optically-clear seven-inch dome bottom, with a plenum-rated metal top. The plenum-rating means that in case of fire in the plenum-area of your house (such as the space underneath a floor where cables are commonly run) in which this device is located, the unit has been treated with a fire-retarding agent that will prevent it from emitting toxic fumes during exposure to the flame. Easy to install, the IRC1-P's metal top is designed to mount recessed into a ceiling.
